Martha and Triple Threat have been playing originals, rockin’ classics, and new blues covers regionally for over 15 years. They entered the scene as the Blues Cats, playing some of the best venues in the area such as Capital Ale House, Alley Cats, Moon Dance, Medley’s in Richmond, VA, and Goodfellas, Jewish Mother, Tap House, Manhattan’s, Schooner’s, J.M. Randall’s, O’Sullivan’s, Sunset Grill, Marker 20, and Oyster Ally’s in the Coastal VA.
The band has played many festival and benefits including Blues at the Beach, 17th Stage Concert Series, Port Warwick, City Center, Bacchus Mariner’s Museum, Oyster Point Oyster Bash, Blues Shows at Town Point Park, and Mill Point, Hampton Block Party, Newport News Midweek, and Hampton Bay Day’s opening for such acts as Three Dog Night, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Bruce Hornsby, and Ruth Brown along with many other events hosted by the Natchel Blues Network and River City Blues Society.
Martha and Triple Threat entered the Cape Fear Blues Fest taking second place overall which lead to many club appearances in the Wilmington area. The band was also selected over thousands of entries to perform at the Nashville Extravaganza. This event showcased the band in several venues as well as playing their original songs on a local radio station in Nashville.
The band recorded and all original CD under the Blues Cats name several years ago but still are actively writing, and plan to record another original CD in 2015. Martha and Triple Threat members are Al Norman on guitar, Mike August on drums, Danny Fitzgerald on bass, and Martha Norman Sullivan on vocals. Martha and Triple Threat has a great Coastal Virginia regional following of long time faithful fans that love to gather for great music, and a guaranteed rocking event.
